Sky Lake’s secluded, sylvan setting provides an ideal location for a retreat. Our comfortable facilities are able to accommodate up to 75 overnight guests and over 200 day guests. Over 900-acres of forest, fields, and water are yours to explore while at camp or on a retreat. Sky Lake is a mere 25-minute drive from downtown Binghamton, New York, which means that we are far enough away, yet closer than you think!
Sky Lake has not one, but two wonderful waterfronts on our own private lake. We offer a variety of activities including boating with rowboats, canoes, and kayaks; and lots of swimming and belly flops from our floating rafts. Our waterfronts are open for the enjoyment of our campground and retreat guests when camps are in session, most weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and upon request (if a Sky Lake-trained lifeguard is available.) Please contact us to inquire about lifeguard availability.
Building a cohesive team is key to successfully achieving your organization’s goals and outcomes. Sky Lake’s TeamBuilding Programs help lay a foundation for that building process. Steeped in the tradition of experiential learning and multiple intelligence theory, our TeamBuilding Programs seek to challenge your group’s way of thinking, communicating, acting, and decision making. From May through September our TeamBuilding programs are able to make use of Low-Ropes Course. We also use a number of portable elements, which means our TeamBuilding Programs can happen any time of year and in any kind of weather. Each program is tailored to the needs and abilities of the group.
Sky Lake has two fields that are perfect for large group activities and games such as soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball, almost any variation of tag one can dream up, and stargazing. We also have two gaga ball pits; two 9 Square in the Air courts; a section of asphalt set aside for pick-up games of basketball; and two volleyball courts. Sports equipment available includes basketballs, beach balls, volleyballs, and frisbees. Guests in Riley Lodge or Caldwell Pavilion can also make use of the table tennis games located in each of these buildings.
Getting married at Sky Lake is breathtaking, but because of limited availability, weddings and receptions at Sky Lake are exclusively for staff alumni. Please contact us today to book your wedding on our boat house overlooking the lake, at Sunset or Lakeside Trysts, or in Founders’ Lodge. Our team will honor your past service by doing their best to make this day special for you. Ask about our facilities for a wonderful reception, too, in our dining room. (Please keep in mind that Sky Lake is an alcohol-free facility.)
Come and enjoy all that Sky Lake has in its backyard!
