DESCRIPTION:Special Needs Winter Retreat 2022\nNOTE: This retreat has been rescheduled to March 24-26 from its original date in January \nA retreat for persons (ages 18-65) with mild- to moderate-developmental disabilities needing minimal-to-no assistance with daily living skills. Enjoy outdoor and indoor winter activities like hiking\, singing\, worship\, crafts\, jigsaw puzzles\, talent show\, sledding\, making snow angels\, and more! \nSky Lake is owned and operated by the Upper New York Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. We have been serving guests since 1947 and first developed our Special Needs program in the 1960s. We believe our natural surroundings at Sky Lake to be the handiwork of God and do our best to make the great outdoors accessible to all of our special needs campers\, at a pace that allows them to fully appreciate it—after all\, time at Sky Lake is vacation for many of our campers! \nThrough all that we do we strive to provide our friends with special needs with a time and place in which they can experience a supportive\, loving\, and safe Christian community that honors\, respects\, and promotes each individual’s personhood. Our caring volunteer program staff will make sure each participant has a great time! \nWe welcome participants regardless of gender\, race\, and religion\, but please note that we are unable to accommodate participants needing one-on-one care.
