SUMMARY:Sky Lake 5K Trail Run & Walk
DESCRIPTION:Please note: should restrictions related to Covid-19 prevent this race from happening in person at Sky Lake\, we will convert this event to a virtual race to take place that same afternoon. Participants will be emailed instructions on how to “check-in” for their solo run/walk. Paid participants will be mailed an official Sky Lake Virtual 5K commemorative award. \nIMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR PARTICIPANTS\nCheck-in will be open from 1:30-3:00pm (walk-in registrations welcome\, but please arrive at least 15 minutes before check-in closes at 3:00pm)\n\nKid’s 1K Fun Run/Walk/Stroll @ 3:00pm\n5K Trail Run & Walk @ 3:30pm \nWhether you’re up for running\, walking\, or just cheering others on\, you’ll certainly enjoy this unique opportunity to raise money for the Sky Lake Campership Fund! \nIf needed\, a shuttle will be available between the parking area on West Shore to the race check-in/start location on East Shore. \nCoat/bag check will be available in the Gift Shop in Founders’ Lodge for a free-will donation. \nA ticket for the hot dog roast is included with paid 5K registration. \nREGISTRATION FEES\n5K Run or Walk\n$20 until April 26th\n$25 from April 27th-May 24th\n$30 from May 25th-June 6th\n$35 Day of race \n1K Fun Run/Walk/Stroll\nFree \nABOUT THE COURSE\nThis is a classic trail run/walk through the woods of Sky Lake. While the route is set on developed hiking trails (with a couple of grassy portions thrown in)\, be prepared for uneven terrain; lots of tree roots; some rocks; a couple of hills; and yes\, even a few muddy spots for good measure. Please wear appropriate footwear! The 5K race will be professionally timed. \nPlease note that in the event that conditions do not allow for our trail system to be used for the race\, we will use an alternate lap course using the West Shore Field and Campground Road. \nABOUT THE CAMPERSHIP FUND\nEach summer hundreds of campers\, volunteers\, and paid staff enjoy classic camp programs designed for children\, youth\, families\, and individuals with special needs.
