We have a long list of things that we absolutely love about camp here at Sky Lake, but at or near the top of our list is definitely the joy that comes from helping youth connect with one another. To help create and foster those connections beyond summer, we’re putting together a few gatherings from autumn to spring. These S’more Time Gatherings are geared toward youth in grades 6-12 and are open to individual youth and youth groups alike. Best of all they’re free!
The final S’more Time Gathering of the 2017-2018 season will be held in (or around) Founders’ Lodge at Sky Lake on Saturday, March 24 from 2:00-4:30pm
Each gathering will feature intentional get-acquainted activities, large-group activities, small-group discussions, worship, and of course s’mores! While not required, reservations are greatly appreciated (so we know how many people we need to plan for, how to get a hold of leaders in the event of inclement weather, etc.)
Q: Are the S’more Time Gatherings only open to Sky Lake campers?
A: Nope! We welcome youth whether they’ve been a long-time Sky Laker, attended camp somewhere else, or have never been to camp!
Q: Do you have to be United Methodist to attend?
A: Of course not! You’re welcome at Sky Lake regardless of what church you attend, what state you live in, or whether you actually like s’mores or not.
Q: I’m not part of a youth group, can I still attend?
A: Absolutely! We’ll connect you with a group for the gathering.
Q: I’m over the age of eighteen (18) and would love to volunteer to help with these gatherings. How do I go about doing that?
A: It’s simple: complete the volunteer interest form at: http://bit.ly/SmoreTimeVolunteer

Riley and Underwood Lodges
Come away and rest awhile as you spend a weekend at Sky Lake free of the distractions of the outside world. Enjoy the company of fellow Christian women as you take advantage of the various activities that will be offered. Dine on healthy and delicious meals prepared by our kitchen staff. Read a book, knit, or even nap by the fireplace in Riley Lodge. Be inspired by your new prayer journal. Go home rejuvenated.
During each activity session, there will be a mild and a wild option from which to choose. Mild options will be more subdued, while the wild options will most likely increase your heartbeat! The cost of most activities is included in your registration fee, however some options will require a small additional fee at time of service. The fee will be for art supplies, floral supplies, jewelry, massage, etc. This “a la carte” fee is to keep the cost of registration down. You will receive a list of activities with any additional fees (payable to the instructor) prior to the retreat.

This is a classic trail run/walk through the woods of Sky Lake. While the route is set on developed hiking trails (with a couple grassy portions thrown in), be prepared for: uneven terrain; lots of tree roots; some rocks; a couple hills; and yes, even a few muddy spots for good measure. Please wear appropriate footwear! The 5K race will be professionally timed.
Please note that in the event that conditions do not allow for our trail system to be used for the race, we will use an alternate lap course using the West Shore Field and Campground Road.
Each summer hundreds of campers, volunteers, and paid staff enjoy classic camp programs designed for children, youth, families, and individuals with special needs. In addition to the funding available from local churches and organizations, almost 25% of our campers rely solely on the Campership Fund to make a week at Sky Lake possible.
We invite individuals, families, churches, businesses, and organizations to consider co-sponsoring our 5K Trail Run & Walk. Sponsorship levels start at $50. Download our Sponsorship Flyer here and then contact us to add your name and/or logo here!
Spring Fling at Sky Lake offers families of all ages, shapes, and sizes an excellent opportunity to get outside and enjoy time together relaxing, playing, learning, and growing in faith. A variety of activities are combined with ample free time, so when you aren’t making a craft, enjoying a sing-a-long, making ice cream, or going for a boat ride, you can sit back and toast a marshmallow, read a good book, or go for a hike. Your time is just that—yours!
Bring your own tent or camper and set up on one of twenty-five private campsites. Each campsite is located off the unpaved driveway that passes through the family campground. A handful of sites even come equipped with 110-Volt electricity hookups (hurry, these go quickly). Occupancy on each site is limited to six persons. An exception to this rule is granted for immediate families (parents and dependent children) comprised of more than six persons. Fire-rings and a picnic table are provided on each site, as campground guests cook their own food. Showering and toilet facilities are located in Caldwell Pavilion in the heart of the campground. The base fee includes a three-night stay and a small program fee. You may arrive any time on Friday and depart any time on Monday. Want to extend your weekend? Spend Thursday or Monday night for an additional fee.

Each cabin has six bunk beds and one twin-size single bed. There are electric outlets and overhead lights in each cabin—so you don’t have to worry about fumbling around in the dark! Showering and toilet facilities are located in the West Shore Bathhouse, a short walk up the hill from the cabins. You may arrive any time after noon on Friday. Programming will end at noon on Monday.
West Shore Cabin (5/25-28): $105 per cabin

And good news for immediate families with more than three members—you’ll be charged a maximum of $475.00 (excluding Friday night option)! You may arrive any time after 11:00am on Saturday. Meal service will begin at noon that day. Programming will end at noon on Monday.
