Each meal brings a wonderful time of fellowship for our guests over healthy and delicious home-style meals prepared daily and served in Founders' Lodge. Pilgrim Dining Hall in Founders' Lodge is able to comfortably accommodate up to 200 guests. Meals are generally served buffet style at 8:00am, noon, and 5:30pm (6:00pm on Fridays.) We seek to meet special dietary needs, providing we receive notice in advance. Our food service team is also able to provide guests with a variety of snacks and refreshments for a nominal fee.
Building a cohesive team is key to successfully achieving your organization’s goals and outcomes. Sky Lake’s TeamBuilding Programs help lay a foundation for that building process. Steeped in the tradition of experiential learning and multiple intelligence theory, our TeamBuilding Programs seek to challenge your group’s way of thinking, communicating, acting, and decision making. From May through September our TeamBuilding programs are able to make use of Low-Ropes Course. We also use a number of portable elements, which means our TeamBuilding Programs can happen any time of year and in any kind of weather. Each program is tailored to the needs and abilities of the group.
Sky Lake has not one, but two wonderful waterfronts on our own private lake. We offer a variety of activities including boating with rowboats, canoes, paddleboats, and kayaks; and lots of swimming and belly flops from our floating rafts. Our waterfronts are open for the enjoyment of our campground and retreat guests when camps are in session, most weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day, and upon request (if a Sky Lake-trained lifeguard is available.) Please contact us to inquire about lifeguard availability.
Sky Lake has qualified staff prepared to lead your group in an action packed game or activity. We can provide the leadership and equipment to offer an activity as a back up for a rainy day or a night game to take your event to the next level – we have just the experience for your group in mind. We also have game and activity equipment available for group use. Subject to the availability of trained staff and weather permitting for outdoor events.
Sky Lake has two fields that are perfect for large group activities and games such as soccer, ultimate frisbee, kickball, almost any variation of tag one can dream up, and stargazing. We also have two gaga ball pits; two 9 Square in the Air courts; a section of asphalt set aside for pick-up games of basketball; and two volleyball courts. Sports equipment available includes basketballs, beach balls, volleyballs, and frisbees. Guests in Riley Lodge or Caldwell Pavilion can also make use of the table tennis games located in each of these buildings.
Sky Lake boasts many excellent walking trails for hiking and relaxing. These trails are also great in the winter for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. And speaking of winter, the hill between Riley Lodge and the lake is fantastic for sledding. There are several letterboxes located throughout the grounds of Sky Lake. Outdoor campfire pits are located outside each retreat facility and are perfect for devotions, sing-a-longs, and roasting marshmallows for s’mores!
